Chicago, IL – The Chicago Sky coming into this game against the Dallas Wings on a four-game losing streak changed things around today. Sky star Angel Reese has shown through all the scrutiny and chaos thrown her way she is built for the moment. Today Reese and her Sky teammates came out with a bit more urgency on the defensive end of the court keeping the Wings from having second-chance opportunities to score points and out-scoring the Wings in the paint.
The Wings had a rough day at the office scoring. There leading scorer was Arike Ogunbowale with 31 points, who did her best to try and keep the Wings in the game shooting 7 for 16 behind the three-point line. The Sky had 4 players scoring double figures Marina Mabrey had 21, Kamilla Cardoso had 17 and 11 rebounds, Chennedy Carter had 16 points, and Angel Reese had 17 points and 18 rebounds. Angel Reese logged another double-double making it her 7 in a row creating HERSTORY being the first WNBA Rookie with 7 straight double-doubles. Chicago Sky Reese and Cardoso had 29 rebounds between the two of them making things difficult for the Wings to score in this game.
Today’s victory seemed like the ladies were playing free and just enjoying the moment out on the court with their teammates. The Sky will play Caitlin Clark at their home arena for the first time this season on Sunday, which the Fever has won the first two meetings. Will the Sky’s production in this game today spill over into the game Sunday to get their first win against Clark and the Fever Sunday? Make sure you tune in to find out.
