The Dallas Cowboys have been the most talked-about NFL organization over the past 30 days for several reasons. The first is the new Netflix Documentary “America’s Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys,” featuring 8 episodes. In between promoting the documentary, Owner and General Manager Jerry Jones was working to negotiate Pro Bowler Micah Parsons’ contract, which generated major headlines over who was to blame for the negotiation breakdown, and ended with Parsons being traded to the Green Bay Packers.
The Cowboys had an opportunity to show their fans they are ready to take the next step of being a contender this year with a win against the 2025 Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles. Both teams traded scores in the first half of the game, with the Eagles leading at the half 21-17. The Cowboys’ defense held the Eagles to just a field goal in the second half after the game continued once the rain delay was over late in the third quarter. The score was 24-20, and the Cowboys need a touchdown to win the game and Dak Prescott threw a pass to CeeDee Lamb who dropped several passes previously, ran a go route up the sideline dropped the fourth and most important pass of the night, on fourth down with 2 minutes left on the clock which happened to be the most costly, because the Cowboys turned the ball over on downs. Lamb had several key moments in the game where he dropped passes that were sure catches for him. Could there possibly be an issue with his shoulder, or can this be counted as a lack of concentration?
The Cowboys needed to stop the Eagles on third and two to force them to punt the ball, but the 2025 Superbowl MVP Jalen Hurts had other plans and changed the play at the line of scrimmage based on the Cowboys’ defense that allowed him to pick up the first down, and run out the clock, securing their first NFC East division win of the season.
These two teams will play one another in late November when the Division could be up for grabs based on how the remainder of the season goes for both teams. The rivalry between these two teams started overheating early in the game, with Jalen Carter being ejected for spitting on Dak Prescott before an offensive play happened, so Eagles and Cowboys fan get ready for the rematch to see what the outcome will be when the game is played next time in Dallas.
