Washington, DC – Tonight Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky played Washington Mystics tonight looking to add another win to their record. Unfortunately, the Sky offense started slow in the first quarter going scoreless mid-way through causing them to fight an uphill battle trying to wipe away a 15-point lead to have an opportunity to win the game.
Watching Reese play tonight, it seems as if she is settling down and playing her game. Reese has been relentless in grabbing offensive and defensive rebounds for the Sky. Reese is currently the first in the 2024 rookie class to score 100 points and pull down 100 rebounds. Tonight, she was able to those totals score 10 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.
The Sky had multiple opportunities to tie the score or take the lead but had a hard time making a basket and shooting free throws. The Sky overcoming the 15-point deficit they found themselves in early in the game took so much energy out of the team to secure the win. Sky Mabrey had an opportunity to send the game into overtime if she had made both free throws with no time left on the clock. The Sky missed a golden opportunity to secure the win today.
The Sky have a rematch with the Indiana Fever on Sunday to see which team will go ahead of the other in the win column. Don’t forget to Tune in and celebrate all the wonderful women of the WNBA.
