Cam Newton has set the sports world on fire with his Game Manager take on a few NFL Quarterbacks

Cam Newton, the former Carolina Panthers quarterback, left many sports analysts’ tongues twisted when he finally gave everyone his definition of what a game manager is when it comes to NFL Quarterbacks.  When Cam commented that Dak Prescott, James Goft, Tua Tagovailoa, and Brock Purdy were all game managers, people took the comment about Purdy being a game manager as a negative connotation instead of asking him to elaborate on how he came up with that analysis of those athletes.

Cam Newton’s point was driven home on First Take, Friday episode, letting everyone know that he wasn’t saying anything negative about the forty-niners quarterback.  Newton stated Purdy has been playing good football and has great resources around him.   Sunday night when Brock Purdy had the opportunity to lead his team to victory to dispel the game manager label, the pieces Purdy needed to secure the Championship Game win came a bit short.  San Francisco running back Christian McCaffrey led in rushing and receiving with 80 yards.  The question that must be raised is what happened to the others in this game.

Taking nothing away from the Kansas City Chiefs led by Patrick Mahomes, they were able to find a way to win the game when it mattered.  Listening to sports analyst this morning, it seems the phrase game manager has taken center stage, and in some instances, they are calling Patrick Mahomes the game manager.  It was good to see Cam Newton fully explain what he meant by the phrase Game Manager which was taken out of context.
