Daytona Beach, FL – Wildcats second-year Head Football Coach Raymond Woodie Jr is building a foundation for the program in his first full recruiting period. Coach Woodie is letting the Wildcat fans know they will have something to cheer about now and in the future with the recruits who will be a part of the program.
Bethune Cookman Wildcat Fans watched their team over the past few seasons dating back to 2021 to last year have subpar seasons going 2-9, 2-9, and 3-8 with players that were recruited into the program to make an immediate impact. Well, Coach Woodie has decided to get back to the basics, recruiting a few more athletes who are coming straight out of high school. According to 247Sports, the Wildcats are ranked fifth in high school recruiting.
The last time Bethune Cookman had a recruiting class this high was after the 2014 football season when the Wildcats went 9-3 beating Florida A&M in the Florida State Classic 18-17 in Overtime. After completing such a good season, the Wildcats, while competing in the MEAC (Mideastern Eastern Athletic Conference), signed 22 players to their National Letter of Intent (NLI) to play for the program.
Coach Woodie looks to continue building a solid foundation for the Wildcats to get back to those winning seasons.
