Jackson, MS – The Jackson State Tigers football team is coming off a 7-4 season under first-year head football coach T.C Taylor. Head Coach T.C. Taylor understands how the new way recruits will jump from program to program to find that perfect fit for them to accomplish the goals and dreams they have set for themselves. Head Coach TC Taylor and the Jackson State Tigers Coaching staff are looking for athletes who want to be a part of their culture along with the type of program they are building.
Jackson State lost their second leading receiver Rico Powers who played in 7 games with 25 receptions for 385 yards and 2 touchdowns, and their 7th leading receiver Seven McGee who played in 9 games and caught 19 passes for 136 yards and 4 touchdowns to the transfer portal.

The Tigers have been busy recruiting during the early signing period and the opening of the transfer portal. The Tigers landed Ja’Naylon Dupree who played for Mississippi Gulf Coast who played in 19 games, and had 50 receptions for 781 yards and 8 touchdowns. The Tigers also landed Richard Mays from Copiah-Lincoln Community College who last season played in 8 games and had 24 receptions for 286 yards and 1 touchdown. They didn’t stop there, the Jackson State Tigers Football team added former Kent State University wide receiver Jameel Gardner Jr who played in 12 games last season and caught 24 passes for 298 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Coach TC Taylor and the Jackson State coaching staff are adding key pieces to the football team, they can coach up that will add depth to the team at key positions along with those who can compete on the field right away.
