The South Carolina State Bulldogs won the toss and deferred kicking the ball to Prairie View A&M Panthers who is set to receive the opening kickoff, with South Carolina State deferring to the second half. The Panthers were led by quarterback Cameron Peters, who was able to get their offense rolling were able to drive down the field, settling for a 25-yard field goal that bounced off the left side of the goal post.
The Bulldogs made a living rushing the ball this season, but seemed to have a difficult time finding a rhythm due to the length and speed of the Panthers’ defense. The Bulldogs have to find a way to get their rushing attack going. The Panthers are keeping a spy on Bulldogs quarterback William Atkins IV, preventing him from generating making sure he doesn’t generate offense, leading to points on the scoreboard.

Prairie View A&M, on their next possession, scored a touchdown on a pass from quarterback Cameron Peters to tight end Ethan John for the first score of the game. The Panthers’ offense wasn’t done after their defense forced the Bulldogs to punt the ball again. Prairie View A&M was able to drive down the field and score their second touchdown of the game on a 24-yard quarterback Cameron Peters keeper, making the score 14-0.
The Panthers wanted to make sure they left their mark on the South Carolina State Bulldogs before the half, scoring a third touchdown on a Cameron Peters pass to Tyler Nelson, making the score 21-0. Peterson has thrown for 261 yards and 2 touchdowns in the first half.
Bulldogs quarterback Brian Stubblefield enters the game with under a minute left in the first half, hoping to generate a scoring drive for South Carolina State to put some points on the scoreboard. The Bulldogs were able to get a first down before going three more plays and were forced to punt the ball with 12 seconds left on the clock. Panthers quarterback Cameron Peters kneeled on the ball to end the half, with South Carolina State receiving the ball to start the second half of play.
