Head Coach Oliver “Buddy” Pough South Carolina Bulldogs won the 2021 Celebration Bowl Championship giving the SCSU Bulldogs their second HBCU National Championship.
Coach Oliver “Buddy” Pough and his South Carolina State Bulldog teams have been known for having winning seasons and winning championship, Coach Pough led South Carolina State Bulldog teams have 15 winning seasons, won eight MEAC Championships, and 2 HBCU National Championships. Played in the FCS playoffs multiple times, was named MEAC Coach of the year 3 times,

Head Coach Oliver “Buddy” Pough started coaching at South Carolina State University in 2002, and have coached some great athletes that have come through the bulldogs football program for 22 years. Continuously raising the level of expectation of his players, the bulldogs always came out and played tough nose, gritty football with a tenacity to impose their will on opposing teams. During coach Coach Oliver “Buddy” Pough tenure as the South Carolina State Head Football Coach, he has racked so many wins making him the winningest South Carolina State Head Football Coach with a record of 146-87.
