Atlanta, GA – Coach Scott Howard University Football Team came up short against the FAMU Rattlers Football team in the Celebration Bowl losing 30-26. Howard University Head Football Coach Scott talked about the journey of how he and his Bison program got to where they are today from when he first arrived in 2019.
Coach Scott talked about when he arrived at Howard University, he had to change the mentality of the players, from how they approached the game, academics, and being better men on and off the field.
Howard University had not won the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) championship since 1993. Coach Scott has not only changed the mentality and approach of the players on his team. Howard University was Co-Champions in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) last season with North Carolina Central University, but outright won the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championship this season beating Morgan State University for the opportunity to play in today’s HBCU National Championship game known as the Celebration Bowl.
Howard University Quarterback Quinton Williams stated in the post-game conference the loss the Bison football team received today in the Celebration Bowl was a lesson. As a coach, when hearing one of your athletes make that kind of statement hopefully will ease the defeat today, giving Coach Scott, the Howard University Coach staff and players that burning desire to get back to the Celebration Bowl next season and win it all.
