Excitement Builds for Norfolk State vs Delaware State Showdown

The announcement that two former electrifying Philadelphia Eagle teammates Michael Vick and DeSean Jackson were named as the new Head Football Coaches of two programs in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), the excitement alone had fans in anticipation of the game schedule date and location for when the Norfolk State Spartans vs Delaware State Hornets game will be played.  Last year’s matchup between these two teams, was played in Norfolk Virginia at William “Dick” Price Stadium with the Spartans winning 38-19.  This year’s matchup was scheduled to be played at Delaware State Alumni Stadium, which has a seating capacity of 7,193 fans.

The fan bases of these two Head Coaches alone require a bigger venue for this game to be played between these two teams, from the attention and fanfare each of these coaches’ garners.  The two first-time head coaches’ teams will play their scheduled October 30th Thursday night football game at Lincoln Financial Field, with 67,594 seats.

The Hornets of Delaware State and the Spartans of Norfolk State fan bases can get ready for a hard-fought game, with serious playoff implications since the MEAC Football Champion is crowned based on who has the best conference record, which will move on to play in the Celebration Bowl.  The Philadelphia Eagles’ hosting this game will help both programs further build their fan bases, increasing additional eyes on the conference.
