Boulder, CO — Deion Sanders became a household name with flashy jewelry, cars and his play on the football field and baseball diamond. Sanders forever being the showman kept fans on the edge of their seats when returning kicks or intercepting passes thrown by many of their favorite quarterbacks, waiting to see if the play he made was returned for a touchdown. Sanders showed the world anything he touched turned to gold like the many chains he used to wear around his neck, now it’s just one or two, and one of them has the gold whistle on it most of the time. Truly loving the spotlight when shined his way will look to take advantage of a photo-op or press conference to let the world hear the resonating words that he speaks to keep them engaged and mesmerized enough to forget what is about to happen.
The Colorado Buffs coach has provided us with his opinions or lack of insight when it comes to athletes getting NIL deals and why some athletes shouldn’t get paid as much as those who can produce more for a product or the university they represent, now that colleges can pay the athletes. The month of June is Men’s Health Month and Coach Prime showed the world his amputated toes on Good Morning America, while talking about getting a physical checkup to make sure his blood clots weren’t causing him any further issues. In between placating those who sat quietly around the world waiting to hear answers to the many questions concerning his status of remaining with the Buffs program and what can the fans expect this upcoming season, fans were left hanging on a string walking away with nothing.

Coach Prime has always been calculated when divulging information, making sure when the time is right bits and pieces are provided to keep everyone entertained and hungry to hear more. One thing that can be attributed to the way Coach Prime moves is he never changes his playbook. The growing questions of whether he will go or stay have begun to get louder and louder and the answers that are given sound more like the ones Coach Prime gave before he left Jackson State.
These are two words that we should live by which are committed and dominate, when it comes to working hard and being loyal according to one of the many shows that was done at Jackson State by Well off Media. Coach Prime has often made it known he gets bored easily and went on to talk about the scout he spoke with and said that “to make it to the next level you have to dominate down here.” That down here was at Jackson State, and the next level was getting the Power 5 job at Colorado University, where he has yet to dominate on the field, but has dominated when it comes to generating money for the Buffs program, keeping the world talking about the program whether it’s good or bad, merchandise sales are out of stock including the knock-offs some of the Buff faithful are rocking as if they are authentic.
Deion Sanders has made it known both at Jackson and now at Colorado that he is happy where he is at and has no plans to leave. That was the phrase Coach Prime echoed to the masses that were at the Jackson State University College Game Day with fans standing out there from all over the country to be a part of a moment that was happening for the second time at a Historically Black College University (HBCU). Coach Prime went as far to say when it was announced he was offered the job that when you start winning things like this happen. Coach Prime was able to soothe the pain because he was winning at Jackson State and was able to navigate through the murky waters of leaving the dominating program that he coached for two seasons leaving the sip the blueprint and moving the family to Boulder. How will this story end for the fans of Boulder now that both Shedeur and Shilo Sanders and maybe Travis Hunter is set to leave at the end of next season?
Coach Prime was able to leave Jackson State with a winning record after losing his second consecutive Celebration Bowl, for Boulder. Will the ending be the same a second time around? Especially now the Buffs are in the Big 12 and NCAA playoffs have been expanded to 12 teams. If all doesn’t go well, one thing Coach Prime can say on his way out the door is Colorado dominated news headlines keeping everyone talking about Buff’s nation for two years, sellout crowds, merchandise selling off the racks and they came but never conquered.
