New York, NY – This game was a tale of two quarters. In the second quarter, the Sky was able to get a 13-point lead against the New York Liberty showing they had some control over the game. At the half the 13-point lead the Sky had built was cut to just 2-points. Some nights teams can have a weird vibe when it comes to the flow of the game. The Sky had several scoring droughts and when they needed a score, no one could make a shot. One thing that should be questioned is the disparaging free
throw attempts where the Sky went to the charity stripe 7 times to the Liberty
20 times. Reese nor Cardossa had a whistle blown on their behalf last night. Angel Reese had a rough shooting night going 5-17 scoring 10 points and getting 10 rebounds, securing her 15th consecutive double-double this season and adding to the current record. Chennedy Carter didn’t have a great shooting night either shooting 10-21 for 22 points and 5 assists.
The New York Liberty continues to make it hard for teams to win on their home court only losing 1 game thus far at home. Liberty Sabrina Ionescu led the team to
victory, with 21 points on 7-17 shooting, along with 6 rebounds 4 assists, and
2 steals. The Liberty and Sky will play each other again on Saturday,
at the Wintrust Arena.
