Fairfield, AL – The Albany State Lady Rams and the Miles College Lady Bears had excessive turnovers in this game. Tonight match up was won behind the three point line and defensive rebounds.
The Lady Rams had opportunities to score easy baskets to keep themselves close in this game in the third quarter with their defense forcing the Lady Bears into turning over the ball.
The Lady Rams had open looks and opportunities to score points but were unable to see the ball go through the hoop to put points on the scoreboard. The Lady Bears on the other hand pressed the Lady Rams ball-handlers forcing them to pick up their dribble or turn the ball over allowing the Lady Bears to get easy buckets. The Lady Bears got hot behind the three-point line knocking down several three-point shots along with scoring easy buckets saw their four-point lead at the half balloon to over twenty points.
The Lady Rams refused to lay down and accept defeat, began to scratch, and claw at the lead late in the third quarter, and throughout the fourth quarter was able to get the lead down to five points. The Lady Rams began to miss open shots as time was running out to have an opportunity to win the game tonight.
The top three scorers for each team in tonight’s game for the Lady Golden Rams Johanna Bell had 20 points, Yasmine Fairchild pitched in with 8 points and Chelsea Hill had 8 points in the game. The Lady Golden Bears’ top three scorers into tonight in double digits, Feliah Greer had 12 points Madison Lee 11, and Lemiyah Harris had 11 points.
