This is the time of year when fans far and wide get excited to see where their favorite High School Athletes will take their talents to play collegiate sports. Several movies come to mind when thinking about what some high school recruits go through when they must decide their future that could further propel them where they wish to go or stagnate their growth causing them to re-evaluate the plan and go a different direction.
The two movies that come to mind are Johnny Be Good and He Got Game. In the movie Johnny Be Good there was a hot shot quarterback that everyone wanted to come to their program, throwing all kinds of perks and benefits they could to land this top recruit. He Got Game is somewhat like Johny Be Good, but this movie gives watchers an in-depth view of how a recruit must evaluate what’s important to them when it comes to choosing a college program.
Looking back to when those two movies were made, I think to myself how far we’ve come but nothing has changed except now college programs can get top athletes with NIL money instead of putting something in their parent’s name hoping no one can trace the financial gains given to an athlete family.
These two movies are used as examples because each athlete moved differently when it came to making the final decision on where they were going to continue their collegiate sports career. KJ Bolden didn’t get caught up in the glitz and glamor of what was going on at the universities that were looking to recruit him. Like Jesus Shuttlesworth, KJ Bolden went about making the final decision that was best for him and his family.
Jordan Seaton is having a hard time right now trying to figure out which program is best for him to reach his full potential as a college player. Like Johnny Be Good who got caught up in the shiny things and lost his way just a little bit trying to decide which college program is best for his future. By no means am I saying Jordan Seaton lost his way after announcing on Undisputed with Skip Bayless, Keyshawn Johnson, and Michael Irving that he is taking his talents to Colorado University. Keep in mind the early signing day was December 20th, 2023. Jordan Seaton made his announcement on December 7th, leaving the door open for another 2 weeks for coaches to make a pitch to see if they can flip the young man to be a part of their program.

Jordan Seaton recruiting is picking up again because the Colorado University letter of intent has not been signed. Hopefully, Jordan Seaton and his family are going through the pros and cons of which program is going to be best for him to achieve the goals he is looking for and not just this moment and time.
Hopefully, the two movies that are referenced above can give athletes a reference for them to use as a guide to help them with making a decision that can impact how their futures may turn out.
KJ Bolden ranked as the top safety and #15 overall player from Buford High School in Buford Georgia and Jordan Seaton Ranked #1 Offensive Tackle from IMG Academy in Bradenton Florida have the collegiate sports world turned upside down right now. KJ Bolden has decided to continue his sports career at the University of Georgia and Jordan Seaton needs a little bit more time to decide but will make the best decision for him.
