Sean Diddy Combs pledged a donation of 1 Million Dollars to Jackson State University and Howard University during the 2022 BET Awards. At the time of the pledge, former Jackson State Head Football Coach Deion Sanders was over the football program when that pledge was made and Combs had yet to fulfill his pledge donation.
Many of those fans of Combs felt it was a great gesture to do something like that for the historical HBCUs. Combs was a student at Howard University before starting his budding career at Uptown Records and moved on to create one of the biggest hip-hop labels, Bad Boy Records, understands the shortcomings HBCUs have when it comes to getting finances to keep progressing and moving forward with different programs because of the institutions are underfunded.

Today on one of the biggest stages during the MEAC/SWAC Challenge, in Atlanta Georgia Sean Love Combs presented Athletic Director Ashley Robinson of Jackson State University with the 1 Million Dollar check.
