One of college football’s brightest stars has been quiet since we last saw him during Shedeur Sanders’ NFL draft party. Coach Prime hasn’t been seen doing his round of interviews promoting his Colorado Buffaloes football program and any new future business ventures soon to be released. Coach Prime was first seen at Big 12 media day, giving some insight into what Buffs fans can expect from the team now that Travis Hunter, Shilo Sanders, Jimmy Horn Jr, and Shedeur Sanders have moved on from the program.
The Buffs Head Football addressed the media via a Colorado football press conference to answer questions concerning his health issues that weren’t made public. Rumors began to fester about Coach Prime’s future with the team because he hadn’t been seen at the Buffs facility since the team returned for the start of summer camp to prepare for the upcoming season. The Buffs Head Coach’s son Deion Sanders Jr, was by his side from the beginning of his latest health concerns to the end, posted a video on X, formerly known as Twitter, Well Of Media page saying, “It was a hard-fought battle, but it was a battle that was fought and won.”

At the start of the Buffs Press Conference Head Coach Prime sat at the table with Lauren Askevold, Sports Medicine Coach for the University of Colorado Athletics, who has been with him since he coached at Jackson State University, and CU Cancer Center/UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital Dr. Janet Kukreja, who stated that Coach Prime’s bladder was removed and replaced with a robotic one was created from his small intestine. Dr. Janet Kukreja said, “he’s fully recovered and is cancer-free”.
Coach Prime made light of the situation, being in control of when he uses the bathroom, and emphasized to everyone listening that they should get a checkup by their physician and not wait. Coach Prime said he’s not coaching football, he’s coaching life. The Buffs’ Head Football Coach looks forward to returning to the sidelines for the 2025 football season after regaining 12 of the 25 pounds he lost after having the bladder procedure. Coach Prime and his football team are looking forward to making the playoffs this season, and the only way that happens is if they win.
