This is the week of the Gulf Coast Challenge in Mobile, Alabama between Alabama A&M vs Jackson State University. Alabama A&M is coming off a homecoming win against DII in state rival Tuskegee University. Coach Maynor who is looking to build off that win talks about starting quarterback Quincy Casey who has been playing some pretty good football over the past few weeks with starting quarterback Xavier Langford being out due to injury.
Casey in the past 3 games have gone 2-1.. In those 3 games Casey has thrown the ball 99 times completing 63 for 952 yards for 7 touchdowns 1 interception, 4 sacks and 2 fumbles. Coach Maynor sounded ver pleased with his Casey quarterback play and requires him to continue to propel his game to high heights.
This week game against Jackson State will be a big one for Casey because he played at Jackson State and transferred to Alabama A&M after the spring season Coach Deion Sanders arrived. Casey is definitely looking to show the Jackson State faithful that he can play top tier like the former quarterback Shedeur Sanders did while at Jackson State. Coach Mayor made the comment during the SWAC media session: Monday, Oct 2 courtesy of SWAC Digest.
The major question many of the Bulldog fans may have is when will Coach Mayor decides to pull Casey if things get out of hand? Will it be once they are down a score or two or when the game gets out of hand? If Casey gets to playing outside of himself and the game plan put together for the team to win this game, who will back up Casey in this game? Is Lankford ready to come in and take over to lead the Bulldogs or will Coach Mayor go with another QB to help lead the Bulldogs onto victory against the Tigers in this game? This should be a hard fought game with these two defenses making the opposing team offense work. Look forward to the follow up on how things turned out in this game.
