The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) is gearing up for its media day scheduled for July 16th, 2025, and released the SWAC Preseason Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year along with the All-SWAC Preseason Team selections. The Celebration Bowl Champion Jackson State University Quarterback Jacobian Morgan was named the Celebration Bowl Offensive MVP can add the 2025 SWAC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year award to his trophy case.
SWAC West Division Conference Champion Southern University Defensive End Ckelby Givens was named Preseason Defensive Player of the Year, led the SWAC in tackles for loss with 27. . Givens was also named to the First Team HBCU BOXTOROW All-American Team, 2024 Phil Steele Second Team All-American, and 2024 Stats Perform FCS All-American. Givens led the SWAC in tackles for loss with 27.5 during the 2024 football season.
