How Coach Keaton Clark Transformed CAU Panthers Football

Coach Keaton Clark Atlanta Panthers football team surprised fans and other programs in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) with their play winning the first 4 out of 5 games starting the 2024-2025 football season.   One game that culminated the Panthers season was their matchup against Bethune Cookman University when they won the game on a last-second field goal after being down by as many as 24 points in the game.

Coach Keaton coaching style forces his players to constantly challenge themselves by finding a place deep within to tap into that gives them that driving force to succeed through adversity.  In the game against Bethune Cookman, quarterback David Wright III made plays with both his arm and his legs giving the Panthers opportunities to score points against the Division I AA football team.  Wright passed for over 374 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 1 interception leading the Panthers to defeat Bethune Cookman football team.  That win against Bethune Cookman put teams on notice that the CAU Panthers football program is for real.

Coach Keaton used the scrimmage against Morehouse to evaluate the talent of his young quarterback to see how he would react against a team bringing defensive pressure in a game situation.  The Panthers quarterback proved he was capable of making efficient plays from the pocket leading his team down the field to score points against the Maroon Tigers football team.

The scrimmage was a good dress rehearsal for the quarterback against Morehouse, the real test will come against Valdosta State University on August 30th, when the Panthers start their pursuit to win the SIAC Football Championship.
