Miles College found a way to secure this homecoming win turning two Clark Atlanta turnovers into a 4-point lead in the fourth quarter. The Clark Atlanta offense fumbled for the first time in the game late in the third quarter when Miles College defensive back Justin Jackson recovered the ball. The Golden Bears offense leaned on their rushing attack early in the fourth quarter with a rushing touchdown by Edward Osley, retaking the lead, making the score 24-20.

Clark Atlanta’s offense on their next possession drove the ball down the field behind an Armon Harris reception from Xzavier Jackson to the Golden Bears’ 43-yard line. On the ensuing play, the Golden Bears were able to force Clark Atlanta running back to fumble the ball on the hand off, which Golden Bears Hayden McDonald scooped up off the ground and returned it 27 yards before fumbling the ball that was recovered by Golden Bears Justin Jackson. The Golden Bears were able to extend their lead with a field goal to seven points, making the score 27-20.
The Golden Bears used their rushing attack led by their two leading rushers, Edward Osley, who rushed the ball 8 times for 54 yards and 2 touchdowns, and Roderick Thomas rushed 12 times for 53 yards and 1 touchdown, to run time off the clock. They didn’t run off enough time, allowing the Panthers enough time to drive the ball and score, with a possibility of tying the game. The Panthers’ offense came up short, losing their fourth game in a row, and will face off against Edward Waters next. Miles College will face off against Central State.
